Kodak camera advert for returned soldiers

This advertisement in Christchurch’s Press in April 1919 urged the relatives of men returning from the war to purchase a ‘Kodak’ camera from local company Sucklings. Similar adverts appeared in newspapers throughout the country.

Other companies to encourage patronage by the families of returned soldiers ranged from professional photographers who took portraits of reunited family groups to bakeries which offered ‘tastefully decorated welcome-home cakes’.
