79 | Sheet 1 — The Waitangi Sheet | Te Koroiko | Te Korohiko | Ngāti Tūwharetoa | Ngāti Te Rangiita | Waitangi 6 February 1840 |
Te Korohiko accompanied Iwikau Te Heuheu to Waitangi with the missionary Henry Williams in January 1840. While Iwikau was reluctant, Te Korohiko was eager to go to Waitangi. Both men signed the Treaty of Waitangi on 6 February 1840 at Waitangi, although they did not have the authority to commit Ngāti Tūwharetoa in this way. Te Korohiko was a younger brother of Hōri Kīngi Tūpaea, who refused to sign the treaty.
