At the top right of the cover are the Maori words: 'Poneke Ah, Hi! Poneke, Ah, Hi! Awi Awi Kua Kiti, Hi, Ha' (Wellington! Wellington! Help! Help! Fill our kit). The programme was printed by the Evening Post.
