really good to see these articles etc.
I think you should add the life-story of the Raglan Ngati Mahanga chief Te-Awa-i-taia to the above lists. (the best authentic photo of him is with his taiaha.)
He was a chief of much influence and respected by both peoples. He was a fierce warror in the old ways and much respected and feared. He became a Christian in about 1835 renouncing the old ways and trying to make peace where-ever he could. Governor Grey attended his tangi in 1866.
This man should not be forgotten
