Home Images and media photos George Bradford
George Bradford was the first New Zealand soldier to die in an overseas conflict. Badly wounded and taken prisoner during a skirmish at Jasfontein farm in northern Cape Colony on 18 December 1899, he died in a Boer hospital 10 days later.
