My mother-in-law Sarah Cowan from Belfast left Glasgow bound for Wellington Oct 1958 on TSS Captain Cook. Married a Kiwi had 2 sons,worked at the Ice Cream factory.
My family came to New Zealand on the Captain Cook in 1955 our my parents names are Gillian and
Tony Millett
I am wondering if there are any others who travelled with me from London in 1955?
I left Glasgow in July 1957 with my brother Raymond. I shared a cabin with five other women and I
was the youngest assisted immigrant to leave England as I was not eighteen until the September of
that year. I think because I was travelling with my brother they must have turned a blind eye. We
loved the journey to New Zealand and were lucky enough never to be sea sick at any stage.
