Nga Tohu

In 1840 more than 500 chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi, New Zealand’s founding document. Ngā Tohu, when complete, will contain a biographical sketch of each signatory.

Tiaho was a signatory on the Cook Strait (Henry Williams) Treaty of Waitangi sheet. He signed in the Queen Charlotte Sound on 4 May 1840.

This may have been Mohi Tiaho, who was also a signatory for the sale of the Waiwhakaiho to Mangati Block in the Grey and Bell Districts in 1854, the Waikanae Block in 1858 and the Wainui Block in Waikanae in 1859.
