Nga Tohu

In 1840 more than 500 chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi, New Zealand’s founding document. Ngā Tohu, when complete, will contain a biographical sketch of each signatory.

Rawi signed the Cook Strait (Henry Williams) Treaty of Waitangi sheet on 29 April 1840 at Port Nicholson, Wellington. A signatory named Aperahama Rawi signed the Enclosure No.9 ‘Release from the Kaiwarawara Natives to the New Zealand Company’ in 1844, this may be the same Rawi. [1]
