Springboks vs All Blacks, 1956

This scene shows action from the second test of the 1956 series at Athletic Park, Wellington. The Springboks won 8–3, but the All Blacks prevailed in the series 3–1. After the 4–0 hammering at the hands of their great rivals in 1949, the victory in the fourth and final test at Eden Park was received with euphoria by All Blacks fans, and national pride was restored.
