St Andrew's memorial Sunday School, Palmerston North

Image

The substantial two-storey memorial Sunday School building at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Palmerston North, was opened on Sunday 17 June 1923. It was dedicated to the memory of the 36 men from the congregation who had given their lives during the Great War. The interior was remodelled in 1936.

In recent years, the building has been given over to secular use (it currently houses the ‘Bridal Studio’ on the ground floor). However, the original memorial tablet remains embedded in the Ashley Street frontage.
