View of Sarpi Camp on Lemnos, 1915. In mid-September 1915, most of the depleted New Zealand and Australian Division on Gallipoli was withdrawn to the island of Lemnos for rest and reorganisation. They spent seven weeks at Sarpi Camp on the western shore of Mudros (now Moudros) Bay, before returning to the Gallipoli peninsula in early November.
