German designed and manufactured Ottoman 7.65mm M1903 Mauser bolt-action rifle - the most modern rifle used by the Ottoman Army during the First World War. It weighed just over 4kg (4.5kg with the bayonet attached), utilised a five-round box magazine and had an effective range of 400m to 2000m. The Ottoman Army took delivery of 207,000 of these rifles before the war and received additional shipments of the weapons from Germany during 1916-1918.
