Pupils of the New Zealand Flying School at Kohimarama pose with a Walsh-Curtiss flying boat, circa 1917. The first private flying school in New Zealand, Kohimarama was set up at an old mission station by Leo and Vivian Walsh in 1915 to train military pilots for the British aviation services.
