Kaukapakapa First World War Memorial

The Hon. J.G. Coates, Minister for Public Works, formally unveiled the Kaukapakapa First World War memorial in the grounds of Kaukapakapa School on 30 May 1922. This was a granite obelisk inscribed with the names of 45 local men who saw active service during the war, listed in the order in which they left the country. Six men were recorded as killed.
