Painting of HMS New Zealand by Gerald Maurice Burn, 1915. Gifted to the Royal Navy by the New Zealand government in 1909, the battlecruiser came through the First World War battles of Heligoland Bight, Dogger Bank and Jutland with little damage. A few New Zealand sailors served on the warship.
