These medals awarded to Wellington-born Flight Lieutenant Kenneth Tait include the Distinguished Flying Cross (far left) and the Battle of Britain Clasp (on the medal ribbon second from left). The Clasp was awarded to aircrew who had flown at least one operational fighter sortie during the battle. Tait survived the Battle of Britain but was killed on air operations in August 1941.
