Ettie Rout and New Zealand Volunteer Sisterhood

Ettie Rout, without a hat in the centre, photographed with the first group of her New Zealand Volunteer Sisterhood to go to Egypt in October 1915. The women wore long blue dresses, white aprons and panama hats. Eileen Neilson stands in the back row at the far right.
