Balfour war memorial

Image

The Balfour war memorial originally consisted of a plain archway with the plaques located on the pillars. The plaques from this memorial have been removed to the Balfour RSA. In 2015, the Balfour township built a new memorial, near the site of the original, consisting of a wall flanked by two pillars. A new roll of honour, listing all those who died in the South African War and First and Second World Wars takes up most of the wall. A gap has been left empty to add those who died in the Korean and Vietnam wars.
