The Āpiti war memorial arch was unveiled outside the Āpiti Town Hall on Anzac Day 1934. It incorporates marble plaques listing the names of 14 local men who gave their lives during the war. In 1947, low walls were added on either side of the arch as the town’s Second World War memorial, and four names were added.
The Āpiti and Districts First World War roll of honour inside the hall lists the names of 84 men from Āpiti, Umutoi and Pohangina who served in the war.
The road through Āpiti is lined with memorial trees.
