On a Christchurch Teacher's College Year Excursion over 30 years ago I sat with a group of students waiting for our bus. I pondered the name Pacey, C R on the Memorial and thought nothing of it. During his primary school year of study on ANZACS my son asked the question do we have an ANZAC in the family. Since then I have discovered the name to be my Dad's Uncle - Charles Robert Pacey - one of 5 brother's to enlist, including their father, William. Charles lost his life and is buried at Chunuk Bair, Gallipoli.
Each year I discover something more of the story. This detail is from The New Zealand Free Lance, Jan 11, 1918. I am still researching their story and would appreciate additions.
