Aka Aka Roll of Honour

A roll of honour was unveiled in the old Aka Aka public hall on 24 April 1948. This listed the names of local men who had served in both world wars: 30 in the First World War (including four men killed in action: D. Milne, W. Middleton, A. McDonald and W. Pullman) and 24 in the Second World War (including three men killed in action: J.C. McQuire, L.D. Martin and M.F. O’Connor). The roll of honour remains on display today in the new hall, opened in November 2002.
