Residential suburb of Wellington city. On the steeply sloping hillside behind Point Jerningham between Oriental Bay to the west and Evans Bay to the east.

This is the anglicised form of the Gaelic Rossinath. Roseneath in Scotland is also a peninsula, flanked by the waters of the Clyde and the Gareloch, as Roseneath in Wellington is between Evans Bay and Lambton Harbour.
