Pukekohe First World War memorial
Memorial in Roulston Park, Pukekohe. The inscription on the southwestern side reads: 'Let all who visit this park remember the glorious dead' and on the northwestern: 'This park/ was given by/ W. Roultson Esq./ to the /inhabitants/ of Pukekohe/ 6th October/ 1921.' The memorial thus commemorates the gift of Roulston Park as a site for the First World War memorial. The deeds were formally handed over on 6 November 1921 when the First World War memorial was unveiled. Jock Phillips and Chris Maclean, c1986
This distinctive boulder memorial stands in the cemetery beside the Pukekohe East Presbyterian church. Dedicated to Maori who were killed in action here on 14 September 1863, it also marks the place where about six Maori are buried.
