I was told that the Maori used an ancient climbing frame.

There is a picture of a huge wooden scaffold which the maori seem to have errected from time to time as a kind of thanks-giving ceremony. "


Does anyone know anything more about these? To what purpose were they constructed? My Mother seems to think she has seen a photo of one that was taken up North. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
