Anti-Springbok protesters prevent Hamilton match

25 July 1981

350 anti-tour demonstrators invaded Hamilton’s Rugby Park, forcing the abandonment of the Springboks–Waikato match. Rugby supporters pelted the protesters with bottles and scuffles broke out.
