This is my grandfather, who died in Levin around 1960. His Christian name is Frank.
My great grandmother was a Mrs, decidedly not a Ms. He was also working on a gold dredge not long before his departure.
There is more information about him on the kete horowhenua website, in his letters home published in the Tuapeka Times and in his letters or copies of his letters with Archives New Zealand. He was in a contingent known as the Rough Riders.
