Description

Located at the southern most end of Greendale Rd.
Situated between State Highway 1 and 77.

Map reference L36 NZMS260 1:50,000
NZMG E2436203 N5736580 (NZGD49 E172°5.167’ S43°34.577’)

Gate to park with inlayed marble plaques containing 61 names
commemorating casualties from the Boar war, WWI and WWII.
Some of the names also appear on the Darfield War Memorial.

Eight names are prefixed with a small star, the significance of which I do not know (possibly those that died?).
