Hi, My Grandfather, Charles Turkingon's, brother Samuel Turkington emigrated to New Zealand in 1897, with his wife, Mary Anna and two children James and Mary Ann. Eileen Olivette Turkington was born in New Zealand on the 13th March 1904. After her father, Samuel was killed in horse and trap accident in 1912 and her mother died months after, Eileen was adopted by the Jenkins family of Eltham. Eventually Eileen became a matron at an orphanage. Was this the orphanage she was the matron of? is there any records of her being there?
