My great grandfather and grandfather Patrick Tobin based out of Greymouth with a butcher's shop and horse and carriage for deiliveries supplied the conscientious objectors hiding out in the mountains along the west coast with packages of food so as they could survive. My granfather was a great runner, he would take off along bush trails to where the objectors hide outs were and then run further up the hill and catch up with his father on the horse and carriage, my granfather had worked in the bush of the west coast and knew the forests and trails intimately.
I seek knowledge if anyone has any pic's or stories about the stone walls made by objectors up around Ngaruru Northland.
May we see these objectors as heros as much as those that fought, lest we forget some of us saw through the propaganda..Yeah Fight the Power..
Peace
