Waimumu Memorial Church (a Presbyterian church) was opened on 8 March 1953. The Reverend G.A. McLean opened the church on the day and the Minister of Defence, T.L. McDonald, unveiled two granite memorial tablets set into its exterior wall. The First World War tablet listed six names (James W. Milne, Alexander Milne, Thomas Reid, William Smith, William Barber and David Telfer); the Second World War tablet listed four names (James Copland, John M. Nicholl, Leslie O'Neill and Peter F. Wyndham).

Both the Waimumu District roll of honour and the Waimumu School roll of honour are displayed in the nearby Waimumu public hall (the school closed in 1996). Photographs can be found on the Southland War Memorials Database.
